Assassin's Blade.

I'm reading throne of glass because it's my partners favorite series. They never read Assassin's Blade but I'm a completionist so I read it after I finished Heir of Fire (just started Queen of Shadows).

I knew what was coming but Sam's death hit me SO HARD. Maybe because she did such a good job at making Sam and Calaena feel so young but I was little standing there after like "he's just a kid!" it was traumatizing. I'm still thinking about it. I was fooled by pirate heists.

When she goes back to The Vaults at the beginning of Queen of Shadows I felt the ghost of him there before she even mentioned him.

I just needed to get it off my chest because I'm stuck at work still staring off into the distance thinking about it. He was just a kid!!! I can't imagine his fear and grief because a grown ass man was a jealous controlling asshole.

Anyway, ready for more I guess.
