[Gen 4] After 10s of hours trying to find my SID...

I used to RNG on Emerald because I had already caught a shiny, which made it super easy to deduce my SID. I started a new save file so I could RNG from the beginning of the game (trying to complete a Gen 4 living dex).

I previously thought if you hit a surrounding frame of your shiny frame and the stats didn't match whatever it was supposed to, then you could rule out the possibility of that being your SID.

After a panicked Reddit post, u/szargho patiently explained to me that you need to hit the shiny frame for each potential SID before you can rule it out. It may sound dumb that I didn't find this out on my own, but RNG a SID is kinda tricky for me. Thank God, this saved me so many headaches. I spent 10 hours alone ruling out SIDs without really checking. After his comment, I spent another 4 hours checking shiny frames and FINALLY found mine.

It's an early frame too, only 1 minute and 46 seconds into the game! Shoutout to this community, I would've been lost without it.

HELP with finding Emerald SID

Hi, I've done manipulated RNG for shinies on Emerald before but that was a save file on which I had a shiny so it was easy to deduce my SID. I just started a new save file and I'm having trouble finding this new SID.

I've followed ImaBlisy's guide but I'm stuck at one part. At a certain point, you need to RNG a starter multiple times to check a range of potential Custom 1 SIDs.

I've checked about 7 and landed on 1 that seems to be mine. My shiny frame is supposedly 17658 but I've landed 1-10 frames off that each time.

I go and search by IV and nature, and the stats match up with frames I'm hitting within the chart. I have even leveled them up to narrow down the IVs, just to make sure I am really in this SID.

I can't seem to land on 17658 and it's been several hours. I've calibrated a million times and I just can't hit the shiny frame. My questions are:

Could this be the wrong SID somehow? You'd think I'd've landed on it by now.

Am I wasting my time? Is calibrating too much a bad thing?

Should I try another SID? Am I just not hitting the frame?

This is the only Pokemon for which this is the case, as far as I know.

The shiny was caught after a couple dozen eggs using the Masuda Method. Check out the cool moveset! (ignore tackle)

The Kyogre and Mudkip were from Sapphire, cloned in Emerald, then transferred to Pal Park in Platinum. Beldum was from Pokéradar. And Nincada was from cute charm file.
