I work on a co-op roguelite shooter called Swapmeat, and alongside a traditional OST (coming later), we also worked with a handful of local Seattle musicians to make an original album inspired by the alien factions in the game. Punk, alt-rock and weird in the best way.

The track names kind of tell you everything you need to know: "Holy Meat of The Cosmos," "To Meat Heim We Ride," "Tangus Betrayel." Each one is its own thing — different band, different faction, different vibe. "Beers and Bones" hits completely differently than "Dangerous Alien Nights" and that's kind of the point.

Reminds me a little of the Mewgenics soundtrack energy, as it’s a bit humorous and strange but it actually works (tho in a very different genre!)

Would love to know what everyone thinks, or if you have another favorite band-led game album you love!

Seattle musicians made an album about alien factions for an indie game: Rare & Questionable Cuts

I work at a small game studio here in Seattle with my husband. A while back, he reached out to musicians he knew and had played with, to write and record an album of songs inspired by the alien factions in our upcoming game. The result is 10 songs of punk and alt-rock with titles like "Silicon Graveyard," "Body Slams Everywhere!" and "Rangus Is the Place."

Really proud of what the Seattle music community made with this.
