Is my battery already compromised?

Hello everyone. I purchased a KQi3 Max scooter from a college student graduating from a local college yesterday. He put it into service (according to the NIU app) in January of last year. When I bought it, the battery health page reflected only 44 charging cycles, and the “remaining health” was at 13 Ah, which should reflect virtually 100% battery health - right?

However, after fully charging the scooter and taking it for a roughly 1 mile neighborhood ride, the battery last 10% of its charge. Even with a real-world range of 20-25 miles for the KQi3 Max, that doesn’t seem right. Is there any other diagnostic check that I can do to tell me if the battery is compromised? With only 44 charge cycles and the “remaining health” at 13 Ah, this battery should have lots of life left…right? To be clear, the scooter seems to accelerate and ride well - it just seems that the battery draw was too much for a short ride around the block.

Also - since the scooter has been in service for less than two years, do I have any kind of warranty coverage?

Any suggestions of what other things I could check to explain this rapid battery draw would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

So, I am looking at a used Ninebot G30P for a really good price. This is not going to be a daily driver - more for running errands and the occasional 5 mile ride on a weekend. I had a NIU KQi3 Pro on loan from my son and I loved it, so I want to get a scooter with similar speed and range dynamics. The G30P has a 15-20% bigger battery than the KQi3 Pro, but the seller sent me a screen shot of the G30P’s battery health, and it is down to 56%.

My question is how badly will the speed and range be compromised with a 56% battery? I don’t care too much about range. If the G30P new had an effective 25 to 30 mile range, and that is down to, say, 15 miles, I can live with that for a while - especially since it may only be used a few times a month, and rarely - if ever - used for more than a 5 to 7 mile trip. I also do not live in a hilly area, so that won’t be an issue. My big concern is speed - how much will the speed be compromised? I can live with a range of 12-15 miles at 30kmh, but if it is worse than that, it might be an issue.

Thanks for the help!

Hello - I had my son’s NIU KQi3 Pro for several months while he was between apartments, and I found it to be really useful to have - for running errands, dropping off/picking up cars and the like. I don’t want to spend a ton of money on one, but I have been looking for a used scooter of the same rough quality/speed/range as the KQi3 Pro (there aren’t too many used NIU’s in my area, and most of them are either KQi1, KQi2, or the 100P/F).

A listing recently popped up for a Ninebot MAX G30P that is being listed in “fair” condition, with a replaced folding/locking mechanism (which would seem to suggest fairly heavy use). The seller says the battery and tires are “OK”. He initially was asking 250 for it, but recently cut that to 200. I was thinking of offering 175. Does that sound like a reasonable price?

Thanks!
