Psycho drivers
Be careful out there! I had this psycho follow me home off 87, block me in my driveway for 10 minutes, then approach my car to try to get me to exit my vehicle. I ended up leaving and losing him eventually, but could have turned out much worse with these crazy people. I did not call the police as it was happening but should have, apparently this is a felony. Protect yourselves!
EDIT:
Two things to address here based on comments, I will address them separately:
I did not go to my house. I got off an exit that was not even my exit, and drove around some circular neighborhoods for 20 minutes thinking he would get bored and leave. When he did not, I went to a house I drive by regularly that often has a law enforcement vehicle parked in the driveway. I was hoping it was there, but when it was not I stupidly pulled in anyway. I didn’t expect him to park behind me and block me in the driveway honestly, a poor decision, but my intention was to just turn around since the car was not there. This is the house where he got out of his car to tap on my window. Someone told me it may endanger the person who lives there to say it’s my driveway, but at 1am when I posted this I did not want to confirm this was not my house in case he saw this, and I assumed if he came back later and saw the vehicle in the driveway it would scare him away. I did not consider there may be a family there when the officer is not home that could be in danger from this person, so to be clear, this was NOT MY HOUSE.
He probably thought I was the AH on the highway initially. I tend to drive around 5 mph over the speed limit, and I passed him, who was in the left lane, from the middle lane. I know people can be upset by that, but I have never had an issue beyond someone honking or something. After I passed him, he stayed inches from my bumper, apparently mad that I passed him on the right. Eventually I caught up to traffic in front of me, and when they braked I had to brake as well. I think he may have thought I brake checked him, but I braked only as hard as I had to based on traffic in front of me. After that, as soon as there was a gap in the middle lane, he used it to accelerate around me (while swerving halfway into my lane) and squeeze between me and the car in front of me. I did honk at this point…which apparently was enough motivation for him to get back behind me and follow me at a multiple car distance 7 or 8 miles up the northway, off the exit I took (not my exit), through multiple circular neighborhoods and then to a driveway where he blocked me in. I could see how he thought I was the AH in the first place, but to do the rest of what he did he has to have some mental issues that I was not about to exacerbate in any way. He seemed calm when he was speaking, which by the way the lip reading guy in the comments was pretty spot on, but his actions leading up to that made me not want to interact with him in any way, however small. Especially anything to refute his claim I “tried to run him off the road”, as he has to be unhinged to follow me for that long, block me in a driveway, then get out of his car on private property and approach another car to tap on the window and confront.
TLDR; I may have been the AH initially, while unintentionally, but he stalked me for close to an hour, followed me through multiple circular neighborhoods, blocked me in a driveway, then got out of his car to confront me on private property afterwards.
I am not a Reddit person, I had help posting this from a friend, and it was actually much easier to post a gif than the full video. The audio is very hard to hear over the radio, but it is almost word for word what the commenter who reads lips said. I said nothing, just recorded, as his actions up to that point were very alarming and I did not want to say anything that might push him over the edge. I did not want to do anything to provoke him to violence, so I did not react or respond to anything, just recorded. I feel pretty confidently that if I had not been recording he would have had a very different demeanor.
