Bedtime Routine
My toddler will not go to sleep unless I leave the room at bedtime. But he cries when I leave. What am I doing wrong?
Cat Allergies and MCAS
So I got allergy tested recently and found out I have a level 4 allergy to cats. Was also diagnosed with MCAS but to be honest, I really don't know how much I trust that.
I have 4 cats.
I used to have sneeze attacks, now my eyes just swell up and my nose runs.
Rehoming is not an option. 2 of them are already 14 years old, and all 4 of them ended up bonding as luck would have it.
I don't take antihistamines because they dried my eyes out really bad and I was already diagnosed with dry eye disease and ocular rosacea. So my eyes are pretty screwed.
I try to clean and use air purifiers, but with a full time job and a toddler, it really doesn't happen. The cats have a sunroom that overlooks our land at night so that there isn't as much dander accumulating in the main house at night at least.
When I had 2 cats, I wasn't struggling like I am with 4. But now I can't go back in time and the second 2 cats were rescues that someone dumped on my doorstep and I kept them before knowing I was allergic.
Will something bad happen to me health-wise if I continue to care for these cats until their natural end? Or will the allergies just be a great annoyance until they pass away? I tested negative for asthma this year.
Thanks for any insight.
Something I was not prepared for
The sheer number of single-use plastic items and ridiculous waste, insane number of stuffed animals, etc etc that my child was going to end up getting gifted throughout toddlerhood. Daycare, relatives, etc.
This is horrible.
