Wanted to share with you guys my newly constructed shade hut!

Built a 10’ x 10’ shade house for my cactus collection here in Palm Springs (Zone 9b/10a). Used 50% shade cloth over a PVC frame (all parts from Lowe’s), bolted everything together for stability, and set it on a base of 1x1 pavers for a clean, level foundation.

The goal was to protect them from the intense desert sun while still giving plenty of airflow and light for healthy growth. So far it’s been working great—temps stay noticeably lower inside and no signs of sun stress.

Always tweaking things, but I’m pretty happy with how this setup turned out. Let me know what you think or if you’d do anything differently 🌵
