With it being May the 4th, I thought I'd share a an early WIP demo of a mode I'm working on that Star Wars fans might recognise.

It's still early days but the recent updates have made this possible including Static Cameras for cutscenes and being able to set the MCOM ownership.

This demo shows the conquest phase completing, a pre scripted animated heli that will then land, players board for additional time and then a cutscene starts that will track the heli and then activates the custom area of the map for the final assault phase.

What is Payload?

This classic game mode is known from many popular titles. One team needs to deliver the Payload to the target while the other team must stop it or push it back. Get close to the Payload to push it.

The more players that push the Payload, the faster it will move. There are checkpoints that will add additional time. Defenders can contest the payload and push it back to the last checkpoint. Attackers win by pushing the Payload to it's final target before the time runs out.

  • Random weather conditions (On specific maps)
  • Silky smooth Payload movement
  • Bots that will play the objective
  • Scoring system for PTFO
  • Cinematic ending 💣💥

We are always looking for feedback to further improve the experience. Please keep in mind that we will continue to support this mode as new features and maps are added to Portal.

  • Add official out of bounds logic (when added to the game)
  • Moving Payload Sounds (will be added when the moving sounds are fixed)
