Hello all. I was arrested for DUI on January 24th, 2026 and had my arraignment set for the 24th of April. However, after showing up to the courthouse I was informed that the charges have not been filed yet by the DA and was recommended to call periodically to check for any updates. My main question is regarding restricted driving privileges.
I did not file for a DMV hearing within 10 days of the incident, so the automatic hard suspension went through. I was told by the DMV that the suspension is effective until the end of June. If my case is still postponed by that date, is there any way to reinstate my license between then and when my arraignment is set? I feel like I'm in a weird limbo period and I'm extremely confused. The circumstances of my arrest were a bit strange (crashed, called the cops on myself, was not witnessed driving but admitted to it in the moment and did not refuse testing).
Can I install an IID into my vehicle, file for SR-22, and attend DUI school all before my arraignment? Sorry for rambling, but any help is appreciated. Thanks.
