
Jio sold me a “postpaid” starter pack, then refused redemption AND refund for existing customer
I purchased a ₹349 plan directly from the Jio website under the POSTPAID section for my sister’s number. Payment went through successfully. Later I found the recharge was actually marked as a “Starter Pack”.
When I contacted customer care, they said:
• Starter Pack is only for new customers
• Existing customers cannot redeem it
• They also cannot refund it
• They also cannot convert it into normal recharge
So basically: Jio accepted the money first, then later said “Sorry sir, policy issue.”
What the hell kind of customer experience is that?
If existing customers are not eligible:
• Why was the recharge shown under postpaid plans?
• Why was payment accepted?
• Why no warning BEFORE payment?
Customer care repeating “sorry sir” 10 times without giving any actual solution is beyond frustrating. This honestly feels misleading and borderline scammy toward existing users.
How to escalate this issue to a higher level?
