2015 Prius (163k miles)
I recently had my car serviced because it was not going into ready mode. That Toyota service department fixed the issue and said everything else is great, no problems.
I picked up the car and saw they did not do the oil change I asked them to do, since it was clearly due. Turning on the car still showed “maintenance needed.” Already questioning that service department bc of this oversight.
I brought the car for an oil change at a dealership closer to my home. I hate going to this location & avoid it because they always upsell and the waiting room is in a section of the sales room and the sales people always get into fights with the manager, this visit being no exception.
I got the oil changed and the service rep said my tires are “dangerous” and need to be replaced immediately. Said they are dry rotting. I told him I got them at Costco and they are covered for 5 years, so I will bring the car there to get them checked. He ignored me and kept telling me their tire deal. I again repeated myself and he again asked me to leave the car so they can replace the tires. I felt like a ghost, he just kept talking at me and not listening.
So as you can imagine I am skeptical. Can you let me know if these tires look dangerous to you? I will bring the car to Costco on Monday so they can look them over because I still have 1 year left in their warranty — these are exactly 4 years old and have driven about 40k miles in those 4 years. But I am so tired of different people telling me different things and would like an independent opinion.
Just found this on the floor by my gas pedal after picking my car up from service at Toyota. 2015 Prius.
2015 Prius (166k). I have considered removing these because they are so sun tanned. It makes my car look kind of dated and it is the first thing I notice now.
