01 Outback transmission going out?
Hello, we have a 01 Outback H6 5eat with 240k miles
The problem is that it has a grind/vibration that is felt throughout the whole car when you turn the wheel and give it gas. It has vibrates at idle a bit.
The other problem is when at highway speeds and taking your foot off or on the gas, the car jerks like the drive train gets shocked every time.
Now it sounds like classic CV axel / transmission mount problems no? Well we have had both of those things replaced, which maybe helped slightly but definitely didn’t fix anything.
Do Yall have any ideas? I am stating to worry that is a torque converter and differential issue though both have good looking fluids.
I am wondering if it’s the power steering rack going bad and the drive shaft having play. I am going to disable AWD to test if it’s the rear end making it jolt.
