I see a lot of DIY setups evolve over time - bigger batteries, different inverter choices, more panels, or better load management.

After living with your system for a while, what would you change first if you were starting from scratch?

Battery size, inverter, panel count, wiring, or something else entirely?

I see a lot of systems sized for whole-home backup, but once HVAC and other large loads kick in, runtime drops fast.

Seems like many people would get more practical use out of just backing up essentials instead.

For those who went whole-home - do you really use it, or would you size differently if you were doing it again?
