I feel like someone really wants to know this is at Goodwill

Hopefully this is allowed. And I’m no expert on bicycle stuff, so maybe it is worthless. But I also feel like it has a chance of making someone’s day.

It seems to be a soft carrier for a bicycle. It is also 30% off today. So like $50.

New to circulation pumps. I think I’m underfiltering. Please advise.

One week old water, one week old tub.

Despite maintaining sanitizer levels, the water is cloudy. Did a little bit of digging here, and assuming water parameters are sound, that points to filtration.

When I got this tub, I confirmed the filtration cycle, see photos. On my last tub I would set this at six hours a day, but that tub was using the jet pump for filtration. I saw eight hours a day on this tub, and assumed I was OK. I kind of just assumed that was jet filtration and circulation pump automatically ran 24 hours a day.

But now I’m thinking/a lot of the internet is recommending that this setting should be 24 hours a day with a circulation pump? Is that what your understanding is? Am I reading the manual correctly that this this setting dictates the circulation pump schedule?

I’m going to clean the filters here shortly. Totally feasible they’re a bit dirtier than usual from startup.

Tub gets used two hours per day, almost every day.

Water parameters cause I know someone will ask: 4ppm chlorine/7.5pH/40alk/30CYA/101 degrees.

Hi!

My tub (J355) is equipped with smartub, but won’t connect to the app. I does connect to wifi.

Is cellular service required? Seems like it might be on the free trail version. I don’t have cellular service at the house. It appears there may be an option for wifi only @ $50 a year or something, but I can’t try it out first. Is my read on this correct? Who loves or finds the smartub app useless?

Secondly, why would I want to use clearray on demand? I understand the benefits of UV, but isn’t the automatic cycle enough (it does have an automatic cycle, doesn’t it?)

And what is ozone? Is it separate from the clearay? It is automatic, I assume?

finally, if any of you are a dichlor/bleach method people, it seems like clearay and/or ozone are not recommended? Can you confirm or deny?

Tub is three days in use. I haven’t noticed a smell the first three usages (4ish hours), but I also wasn’t really chilling in any spot for a long time, I was bouncing around, getting to know the spa/features.

Water balance is solid (3ppm sani/7.4pH/45 alk/140ch)

Last night in the lounger I noticed the smell. ONLY in the lounger, nowhere else. It immediately goes away with air off, immediately comes back when air is on.

I spent a little time double checking the other seats (which are all on a different pump). Confirmed, there is no smell with or without the air.

The smell is subtle and I can’t think of a way to describe it. It smells like offgassing, if you know what I mean. It does not smell organic like mildew, bacteria, algae. It also does not smell like any chemicals that are typically added to a hot tub.

Is this normal? Has anyone else had this? I feel like it’s going to go away, but should I worry about anything now?

New tub day! And it just occurred to me. Should I have tipped those guys? Took about an hour.

This car already has major blindspots. Based on mockups there no fitting an R4 above the mirror.

Thanks!

We always said Butt F@$k Egypt/BFE. Sometimes Butt F@$k Nowhere, but without an acronym.

Is this generational? Or maybe just localized? I use it sometimes in comments in other subs and people don’t know what it means.

Also, anyone have any clue where it came from?

Anyone else notice that bobby pins just suck now? I’ve used Goody for decades and they’ve been much better than others, but not in the last couple of years. Scunci isn’t working as well as in the past, either. The lengths on top/bottom don’t stay connected, usually the zig zag side moves laterally so they wind up being a slight V rather than straight. This happens after one insertion! Sometimes I can straighten them, but it just makes the next insertion worse. And straightening them with one hand while my other is holding hair is a PITA.

Can anyone recommend bobby pins that don’t warp (idk a better word, but they become misaligned) after one use? They just have to be buy-it-till-lose them, not life, but that should be (used to be) as many times as I possessed them.

Thanks!
