Days are numbered Verizon.

Never again. Been with all 4 major networks at some point. Verizon,T-Mobile, AT&T and sprint. Had Verizon on my parents when I was younger then at&t for awhile while they had the exclusive on iPhone then bounced between T-Mobile sprint and Verizon for the following 10 years. Switched to mvnos/prepaid since 2020.

Spectrum and visible for main lines and mint and tello and some others for my secondary phones been perfectly happy they are all pretty much the same at this point.

So I was stupid with there new promos I decided to try Verizon again, figured seemly great international plan, unlimited 5G, and some decent sign on bonuses (free tablets and phone discounts ) also joined Verizon fios (part of a discounted bundle)

In the process of paying everything off and dumping them.

First off 1300 dollars for both services the first 3 months a complete rip off for the 3 phones, two watches and tablet (we own half our new devices , bought from Apple directly.)

400ish a month averaged out and yes we know first bill is higher (1100)

On top of that I’ll spare you porting over and getting fios and wireless a nightmare they didn’t complete fios and we had to do the rest! After they failed to activate after 24 hours after leaving.

Wireless they deactivated everything and messed up the ports (no phone service for a week and they couldn’t figure it out. )
Had to go to store an hour away(only corporate) to finally get it fixed so no home or cell service at all for a week. Couldn’t work(log into work cause we couldn’t get authorization codes texted ) lost thousands in income.

Verizon credit 50 bucks. Never gave more like they said they would.

Onto service of course there 5G is slower and less broad then T-Mobile, but it’s noticeable in worse quality(feels like I’m back in 2017 but paying more is insane)

Home WiFi extenders on spectrum worked perfectly these Verizon ones don’t do shit. Speeds with spectrum 1gig down 40up

Verizon up is 800 which is definitely better. But down speeds is 500 not even a quarter of the 2gb speeds we pay for its slower (I know it’s not going to be full at WiFi but still it’s worse and more then spectrum cost )

Never got out gift cards or tvs(600 dollars in rewards they don’t know why we didn’t get the emails to get them )

So we went from all our services with Verizon indirectly working fine and paying spectrum for a combined total of 180 a month to jumping to a current bill of almost 600 now for absolutely nothing.

Oh yeah that international service a complete rip off while it works ( they count data wrong first two days used 1.4 gb we used it a bit so made sense ) 3rd day we were on the water phones all powered down for 26 hours turned it back on each phone over its international data now between 15-20gb each phone has 15, funny cause the phone phone I hadn’t turned on yet in this Country so no way any data was used. Service is terrible but that’s more the countries service and not Verizon.

However for that prices I used to pay for that 120 more a month in plans we pay for we really pay 220 since we travel every other month for 15gb vs before buying from a app around 50gb for 20-35 dollars per phone. Sorry but it’s a waste of money across the board Verizon is still good overall for prepaid and mvnos but if never use them post paid again a complete rip off. So overall what we’ll pay to switch everything back and switch home internet it’ll be around 3 grand for 5 months of service or a year and a half of service if we just stayed on our original company. Worse slower and less service for 4 times the price.

Hello we are looking into getting starlink roam question is should we get the standard that comes with a router or just the mini is fine.

Need it probably two months out of the year
Camping in the states
Going to countries like Bolivia and Guatamala for a few weeks out of the time or even Europe etc where our data plans on our phone would probably be used up.

Wish we had it in Guatamala while our current water front is amazing there’s no data here for cell service and the WiFi stopped working first day
