Messed up my eTA, how to fix it
I have a kinda complicated situation and need some advice what to do next.
I had a flight planned for today morning 11:50 CET from Munich to Toronto. I had already my ETA approved on 25th March, until i noticed yesterday that my passport number was missing a character.
As i applied for the first time, i applied 6:30 PM, i got response at 11 PM asking me to clarify a false info, which at that time was i ticked No for the question if i was denied a visa to Canada before, which happened 10 years ago, and i totally forgot about it. So i sent my response clarifying that i forgot about it since it was a long time ago, and at the same time i’ve been travelling a lot specifically to the US multiple times during the period where my visa got rejected, 3 hours later at 2 AM i received the approval for my eTA.
Fast forward to yesterday, i was preparing my stuff, then i noticed the wrong passport number, so i panicked a lot, i reapplied yesterday at 7 PM, then i noticed i had the wrong travel purpose, but i had everything correct referencing my already approved eTA application number. So i created another application today morning after 12h of submitting the first one, correcting the previous one, and yet again i have forgot to fill out the approced eta number, so i created a third one.
Then i figured out that i might have complicated things even more, so i used the web form telling them what happened, and sent all 3 application numbers explaining what happened and which one they need to consider and withdraw the other 2.
One last note: as i applied the first time (the approved eta) after approx 2 hours the status has changed from “not started yet” to something i cant really remember. But for the 3 applications i submitted after, their status is still “not started yet”. And i’m not sure if it’s because of the long queue, or because i had too many applications at the same time.
So i missed my flight, and rebooking will cost me 3k€ now, and still no eta. I know it’s almost impossible to speed things up, but if i can do anything to fix the mess i made i’d really appreciate your advice.
