Mumbai lesbians!! Where are you?
Helloooo ladies and and gentlethems, I (22F) am so happy I came across this subreddit a few days ago because I didn't know there was a forum (and an active one, at that) for Indian lesbians!
I'm a queer researcher and I'm doing my Master's thesis on how lesbians in Mumbai are seeking other lesbians, finding safe spaces, and navigating identity expression. I'm really interested in this topic because lesbianism has received relatively marginal scholarship. This post a few days ago also echoed some of what my research is about: traditional women's spaces (kitchen, baithak) and secret mailing lists (like Delhi's Sakhi Collective) have been documented but they existed in a bygone era. What I want to see is how current trends have shaped how lesbians are seeking each other out.
I would really really really appreciate if some of you, who match the below criteria, would fill in my form and participate for a small interview:
- Identify as a lesbian
- 18-40 years of age
- Live in Mumbai
- Have been out to at least close friends for 3+ years
It'll be a super informal interview, nothing too complicated, I just want to know your experiences!
