Got this in the mail today, super excited to have it!!!
Hi, here are my CDs of They Might Be Giants' Boss Of Me.
The first copy is from the US and is promo only. It features 3 versions of the track, the normal version, the instrumental, and a 9 second longer edit that adds nothing to the song aside from 9 additional seconds of "life is unfaaaair" at the beginning. Meant for radio DJs to talk over i'm assuming?
The second copy is from Europe (specifically, Germany.) And unlike the US copy, bears no mention of Malcolm at all (aside from a tiny promo sticker on the front) with They Might Be Giants being on full display here. Aside from Boss Of Me, this copy also features Mr. Xcitement (featuring Mike Doughty of Soul Coughing, and partially heard in the "Dinner Out" episode of MiTM) and a live version of Birdhouse In Your Soul. The most notable thing about this copy is that it came with a German PRESS RELEASE! It's mostly about Malcolm and how well it was doing in America at the time, but TMBG get a passing mention at the end.
I got a copy of the MiTM soundtrack off ebay a few days ago, which features this plus TMBG's "Older" (which I don't even think was heard in a Malcolm episode but still a nice addition, maybe the record label got "Music From And Inspired by"-itus.) And I'm very excited to get it in! Huge missed opportunity to put Nice Is Good, Mean Is Bad from Red Dress on it, the only way you could hear it in full was on TMBG's Dial-A-Song service, even then it was being played through a phone line in very, very crappy quality. 😂
He even acknowledged this very subreddit at 2:14!
These came from the same eBay seller that sold the Apollo 18 rough mixes. Some of the tracks on the Mink Car samplers are shorter (and longer in some cases like Your Mom's Alright and Bangs) compared to the album versions. Anyone know who won these and if they'll ever get ripped?
From the GOAT Cec.ptt45. They finally put up Humpty Dumpty and the model planes!! A notable new addition is a mini Marvin's sign!! A bunch more signs and posters are up now compared to last month. Things are really starting to come together!
I don't think I've seen anyone post about the Pizza Planet/figure sets. Pizza Planet is a MAJOR downgrade compared to the OG imo.
My first TMBG show! Tonight's featured album was LINCOLN!!! Super excited to hear They'll Need A Crane and Snowball In Hell live! It was awesome!!!
