On Sunday, the Alberta River Surfing Association is running an introductory class for those with little to no experience.

In Banff National Park and other mountain parks, visitors should never:

°stop or gather when animals are feeding at the roadside or elsewhere;

°interfere or influence wildlife behaviour such as attempting to feed them by hand; or

°approach the animals for the purpose of taking photos.

According to park rules, all visitors should stay at least three bus lengths away from deer, elk, sheep and moose and 10 bus lengths away from bears, wolves, cougars and coyotes.

A class-action lawsuit over the noise, dust and risk to public health from a cement plant at the foot of the Rocky Mountains will go ahead, an Alberta judge has ruled.

Data from CPS and Statistics Canada show that youth crime has shifted away from property crimes and toward more violent offences.

While incidents of property crime decreased from 1,151 incidents in 2014 to 674 incidents in 2024, the number of violent crimes committed by youth nearly doubled from 685 offences in 2014 to 1,218 incidents in 2024.
