Hey gamers,

I am dealing with migraines after a heavy antibiotic and stomach issue. I'm hoping to get some ideas for games I can play with a migraine. I think the big triggers are lights, sounds, stress, and camera movement. I'm looking for games to play so I can "baby step" back into gaming. That is, once I am off screens and repaired fully.

For those with migraines, what games do you play that are okay for your brain? Thanks so much :)

(Full story: I was on my way to Utah in late March to camp and got hit with aforementioned stomach issue. While repairing from that one, I was pissed I had to come home and was like "well, FML, I guess I'll play RDR2 to get the western vibe if I can't IRL." That game made it so, so much worse. The action, gunshots, camera shifts during hunting and Dead Eye were not helpful!).

Thanks so much.

Hey friends,

I have been having a migraine for the last 5 days, the worst being Friday (now Wednesday). It went away briefly after a massive panic attack and Urgent care visit, but after seeing my doctor and trying to work on screens, it came back big last night (and again as I was sleeping).

This may have been kicked off by a stomach issue that's resolved but the antibiotic they gave me was INTENSE (Flagyl/Metronidozole). Saying that the last bout with this infection caused a significant migraine last month.

I tried Amitriptyline and it made me extremely groggy and I was losing sleep (which I needed), and now they want me using Sumatriptan for abortive treatment and Propanolol for ongoing (though I have taken this for anxiety and it doesn't help me function; can't work out, no BP issues but feel faint).

I'm almost down to do the Prop again if it will help me get out of this. I'm hoping that these are not going to be ongoing.

Really, what I would ask from you all is for support as this has never happened to me, as well as your best abortive and maintenance therapies that don't require medication (I don't like western med, it never works for me). So far, I'm doing sleep, electrolytes, some CBD and Advil though I do not want rebound headaches, so I'm trying to lay off them. Are these "migraine aftershocks" normal for those who suffer from this?

Thank you all so much!
