Apologies if this type of post isn’t allowed, it’s just something that’s been nagging me for a while now!
I had this boyfriend years ago who owned a car and claimed he’d passed his driving test - but he only had a green provisional license in his wallet. I can’t remember exactly what excuse he gave, something like he never sent it off after passing.
Anyway, a couple of years into us dating, he got pulled over one night and the police took his car because he was driving on a provisional. He told me it was a total screw-up on their part and that he’d passed his test ages ago. He was told he would need to take a driving test to get his pink license, which he did a few months later and passed.
I was admittedly a naive 19 year old at this point and never questioned what he was telling me. I just assumed it was some admin cock up from him never sending off for his pink license. But in recent years I’ve started to wonder if he was chatting absolute shit and had never actually passed in the first place.
This was about 15 years ago now… does his story sound even remotely plausible?
