Is this blood?? Mucus for 5 days, 7 week old EBF baby
Im a FTM and my baby is 7 weeks old and exclusively breastfed. For the past 5 days I’ve been noticing mucus in her diapers which already had me worried, but today I saw this orangish yellow streak/parts in her poop and now I don’t know what to think. Is that blood?? It doesn’t look red to me but I honestly have no idea what I’m looking at anymore.
I started eliminating dairy from my diet 3 days ago based on my pediatrician recommendation. She also has a little red irritated spot on her bum so we’ve been using cholestyramine cream with Bordeaux’s Butt Paste for that(hence the brown background in the diaper).
For anyone who’s been through CMPA or CMPI — does this look familiar? Did you cut soy at the same time as dairy or wait to see if dairy alone helped? And how long did it take before you started seeing improvement in the diapers?
