Built a Monetized Prank Platform using n8n + HTML (100% No-Code Backend)
Hey everyone, I just wanted to show you guys a little project I’ve been doing away at lately (as part as other stupid stuff) . It’s a satirical prank site called Search History Leak where you can "spy" on anyone's private searches. It’s obviously all for fun, but I really wanted to see if I could build a solid, monetized app using n8n as the brain instead of a traditional backend.
The whole thing runs on a mix of HTML/JS for the UI and n8n connected to Google Sheets for the heavy lifting. I had to get a bit creative with the logic because I didn't want people spamming the site and burning through my API/tokens, so I capped it at 3 free searches per day per person. It identifies users through a fingerprint token, and it’s been working surprisingly well.
I even managed to get it working in 5 languages automatically, which was a bit of a headache with the n8n strings, but it’s cool to see the site switch everything from the buttons to the Stripe checkout links based on where the user is from. Since there's no login, I also added a "Restore" button where you can just paste your unique ID if you change devices or clear your cache, so you don't lose the credits you bought. n8n also handles sending a follow-up email with that ID after a purchase.
