This is Blanche- She was given to me two years ago before I stumbled upon this side of Reddit and learned how wrong her enclosure is. She needs a ton more substrate and obviously a completely different type of substrate- and possibly a bigger enclosure. Which brings me to my question- this girl has been on this type of substrate her whole life- she’s currently about 25 years old. In anyone’s experience- would changing what she’s known do more harm than good at this stage of her life? Is it worth the risk?

I’m obsessed with her and don’t want her to die…. Like ever. I knew 0 about tarantulas when I got her. I don’t think my neighbor (who gave her to me) knew anything about them either and kind of took her word for it as far as care.
