Is it supposed to go directly on flame or on top of grates?

I bought this from Amazon Napoleon store. It is supposed to fit Rogue 525. But when I remove one of the grates and place this in the spot, it leaves a considerable size gap between grates and itself. Am I supposed to just put it on top of grates instead of replacing the grates?

How is Tank Inhibitor Bracket useful?

In my opinion it’s just an obstacle in empty space. Unless I am missing something.

I am looking for a grill and I am a fair weather griller. I probably will use it 10-15 times a year. Monument 4 Burner has side searer and burner or Members Mark 4 Burner has a side seared. Any recommendations?
