What was your experience with lowering your Spironolactone dose?

I increased from 100mg of Spironolactone to 150mg last year, and I’ve decided I’m going back down to 100mg now. The dose increase (and associated skin benefits) aren’t worth the weight gain I’m seeing. I’ve decided to cut a pill in half and try 125mg first for maybe a month or so before going all the way down to 100mg. I had been on 100mg for quite a few years, so I do know it’s fairly effective for me.

I’m curious what your experience was when you lowered your dose. Did you breakout or “purge,” so to speak? Did your troublesome side effect resolve, did new side effects occur, etc.?

Managers expecting workers to be excited about AI is like a butcher expecting cows to be psyched about a new burger

I am so baffled as to why my company’s management is trying to “sell us” AI. Their proposals are enormous, and they’ll have enormous consequences if everything works out as they hope. This isn’t just an additional, singular AI tool. We’re talking about entire departments being wiped out. But here they are, literally dancing around to actual music with the CEOs and hyping people up, trying to pretend this is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Do they think we’re stupid? Like, are they operating on the assumption that we can’t figure out what the endgame is? Because with the details they’ve given (and they laid everything out in around 100 PowerPoint slides), it’s basically a matter of being able to add 1 + 1. They all but told us in these slides that the timer has been set, and when it goes off, 💥 EVERYONE KNOWS. Surely they know we know? Let us be terrified in peace without all this cringe. No one wants to play games while they’re contemplating their future survival.

Anyone else going through this currently? 🫠 I miss when the worst thing we had was an AI tool that summarized emails. Because reading the original two sentences in said email was, I guess, too difficult.

What’s the one thing in the bookish fandom, if you will, that you don’t enjoy or won’t partake in?

For me, it’s author signings. I know book conventions (and store appearances) are exploding in popularity and everyone wants to meet so and so. Yet if I learned anything from years of attending comic cons, it’s this: don’t meet your heroes is a phrase for a reason. I can handle a TV show or movie being tarnished, but if I meet a jerk of an author, I will ✨cry.✨ And I’ve heard more than one story of authors being irritable and snappish, and in some cases downright rude. To be clear, everyone’s human and imperfect, and they SHOULD be, but that’s precisely why I prefer to hold some humans at arm’s length. It’s so much easier to enjoy art without a personal negative experience attached to it, and I’m a big ol’ sensitive ball of feelings. Take my cash and love from a distance. 🤣

My runner-up is bookish balls, because I’m too much of an introvert and I’d be standing awkwardly in a corner while the music blares like 👁️👄👁️ So I guess basically all bookish fandom events are a no-go for me!

I need a priest, because this Besta shelf is SATANIC. I’ve been rocking it back and forth, pushing, pulling, swearing… At best I can get the shelf to sit fairly well on three of the support pins (well, maybe two and a half). The ones in the back are the problem. Perhaps one of the holes is slightly off. What do you think? Good enough, give up? Or should I be wary of using this at all? It’s being used to create a very thin shelf area (maybe 2” of space) that 2 to 4 books will be placed on, so nothing particularly heavy.

My hands hurt so bad. 😂 PATHETIC, but I gave it my all!

I’m totally baffled right now. Two packages from eBay and two from Etsy, all in different states, every seller says the item was dropped off, and it’s been over a week with no scans beyond the initial label creation (“Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item”). I’ve had delayed scans before, of course, but I’ve never seen anything like this.

Is anyone else experiencing a total lack of scans, or scans delayed by 7+ days?

I’ve made an 8-hour road trip and flown 2 hours to another state purely for ballet, and if it comes up in conversation, you’d think I told people I moonlight as a serial killer. 👀

To each their own, of course, but I’m surprised how crazy some folks think it is. Surely countless others have traveled for, say, Broadway shows and major concerts.

So I’m curious - how far have *you* traveled for ballet?

Hopefully some of the answers make me feel less bananas, because I would consider going overseas for the right performance... And I haven’t been to another country for quite some time. I like having a “main draw” for a vacation, so to speak. General sightseeing and relaxation isn’t enough for me, considering the costs involved!
