Roguelikes with a variety of playstyles/starting options and significant in-run progression?
I've been thinking about why some roguelikes gripped me and why others i bounced off of or generally didn't interest me.
After thinking about what Roguelikes i liked: DCSS, TOME4, CoQ, Path of Achra; i realized what they all had in common was that you'd start the game by selecting from a vast variety of starting options which would strongly shape what type of playthrough you were going to have, and that from levelling up, getting skills and gear your character would grow in power and possible actions all throughout the game, with building up a character that was self-synergystic being an important part of long-term planning.
So, i figure those aspects are the most important for me, and come here to ask about games with them.
P.S: ADOM does fufill both aspects, i tried it out, but the constant enemy spawns irritate me so i dropped it. Genuinely can't stand that mechanic.
