What was this bird in the woods UK?
I didn’t manage to get a good picture or video of it at all as it was flying about a lot, but was just walking through Walton woods in Yorkshire UK, I could hear this bird quite loud making song I’ve never heard before it got my greyhounds attention as she went on high alert when she heard it as if she’d not heard anything like it either or as if someone was squeezing a squeaky dog toy 😂 it’s song and calls sounded different to all the native birds I could hear around, anyway I walked a bit further up the path and managed to catch it flying over the field I was passing only way I could describe it was very vivid bright green wings and a red beak, I wasn’t sure whether it was a green woodpecker at first but I think this was too vivid green, and the tail was too big?? Almost forked?? could it have been a ring necked parakeet? Never seen one in the wild before I only managed to get a small video of it squawking, unless I’ve taken a video of the wrong bird here which is also quite possible 😂
