My daughter is starting to have neighbors over to play and I’m not sure how to handle this dynamic. A lot of times new kids show up to play and I know of their parents but don’t have a relationship with them.
My daughter is almost 5 and I know at that age they are still learning to play cooperatively. But I’m having a hard time with kids I don’t know coming over and pushing, taking toys, and being generally rude. How do I handle? I don’t want my child or house to be avoided but I also don’t want to just stand by while these girls (sometimes older like 6 or 7) push my daughter around. They often come over while my nanny is here and try to boss her around.
Do I stop letting kids play? Or do I try to talk with these moms I don’t know?
I already feel out of the loop or out of place being non religious in a very tight knit religious area.
