What Laptop I should buy with a Decent Baseline for you recommend for Linux Mint or Debian Edition (Partially Interested in Debian) with Windows 10 VM (VirtualBox)

Hi!

I’m just interested and curious about Linux in a general sense and is planning to make a switch in the when I have the time and money. I have little to no knowledge about how much Ram, GPU and etc I should have. Please don’t bully me for this. Here is my needs by the way.

Needs:

Generally a comfortable and smooth experience for Journalism and Research, possibly writing too. I do play some games but rarely (Maybe some good resolution and quality, but that’s just maybe. I’m not really picky anyway.)

I don’t exactly know what my hardware is, but it’s like this: Intel Core i3 Windows 11 Lenovo and is generally black.

I will take any good suggestions to heart!

On a Linux Mint, Should I use Incus or VM (Virtual Machine) For Windows 10?

Hi!

As a total beginner who hasn’t even downloaded Linux Mint yet and is just very interested and curious on how to migrate to Linux. I’ll probably switch when the time is right. I did some decent research on the two and realized that I really don’t know which one is better for my needs.

Needs:

I want to use my laptop for privacy and general security and then Distro hop when I get comfortable enough with Linux Mint for future investigative journalism.

Generally I did good research on Linux Mint, Ubuntu, VM and little about Incus. Please don’t bully me if it was the same thing as VM.

I’ll take any good suggestions to heart!

What Minimum Hardware And Etc Do I Need For A Host Ubuntu and KVM (Kernel Virtual Machine) For Windows 10 and Gnome Rice Customizations And to Run Smoothly?

Hi!

I’m a complete noob at this thing. In fact, I don’t even have Ubuntu installed as yet and I still have my Windows 11. I just have been very interested and curious in how Linux gives you so much privacy and customizations and I want to make a switch when i have the time and money to do so. The reason I want to use a KVM is for research, journalism purposes, and Windows 10 is just in case I need to use its applications (I don’t know if this is a heads-up or what, but I don’t play Kernel Based Games and I rarely play games anyway). And for the Gnome Rice Customizations, I just want to make my Laptop look pretty, so you can recommend me some things.

I did some good research about KVM and its uses and not much about Gnome Rice Customizations because it was pretty straightforward if I had to be honest!

I’ll take any good suggestions and advice to heart!
