Do all spelling differences matter to you?

I recently asked a friend of mine if he likes the name Phillip, and he said he would much rather name his child Philip with one L, basically giving Phillip a hard NO. I also have a Brazilian friend who named his daughter Gabriela, and he said he would much rather spell it that way than Gabriella with 2 Ls.

Many other people say similar things, and my question to u is: do these minor, or "minor" differences matter to you? And would u even notice?
