How can I come up with level ideas for traditional levels in Super Mario Maker 2?

I’m dealing with designer’s block, and I can’t think of level ideas that would work well for Traditional Super Worlds. I watched a Tobias Bergdorf video, but it didn’t help. Solma (also known as The Land Team) told me to use ideas from other games, but I don’t want to copy or steal level concepts from other people.

I’m really stuck and struggling to think of ideas for levels. If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it.

I watched a Super Mario Maker 2 traditional level design guide from Game Maker’s Toolkit, and he said to use one course part as the main mechanic of a level.

“One of the biggest mistakes you can make in Mario Maker 2 is to fill your level with every single object in the toolbox. You know, put a giant spike column here, throw in a few bumpers there, mix in a couple of seesaws, and finish off with a gauntlet of Banzai Bills. These levels are often completely unfocused and, critically, they don’t have enough time to introduce each idea or explore it to its full extent.

So instead, look through the toolbox and find just one mechanic that you can use as your central theme for the stage. Perhaps it’s a Note Block, a Trampoline, ON/OFF Switches, or the Snake Block. This doesn’t mean you can’t use other items in your level—it just gives you a strong foundation to build on.”

The problem is that there are 92 course parts in the toolbox, and I don’t know which ones to choose. On top of that, I have 40 levels in my super world, so i gotta make each level count!

So if anyone can help, I’d really appreciate it!

(Off-topic, but how do people in SMM2 choose a course part for a traditional level? There are 92 options, and you have to pick a course parts for ~40 levels in your Super World!)

Basically, if SMBW’s levels were stripped of everything not found in the NSMB series (like Wonder Flowers, badges, talking flowers, etc.), but kept everything that is in the NSMB series (like power-ups, enemies, level gimmicks, etc.), and put them in a NSMB game, would they be as good as NSMBDS levels—if not better?
