Alternate Cult

What if in Mandela and surrounding counties, a cult popped up that reasoned that alternates are not a perversion of human form, but rather the perfection of human form? What if they believed that the ultimate ascension of one's soul is to surrender yourself completely to an alternate? They wouldn't feel dread or distress when seeing an alternate, instead they'd revere them as divine.

Would alternates even care about something like that? Would like the lack of fear make the alternates bored? Would they just take it as easy prey, or would Gabriel maybe use this to his advantage to spread his influence wider and faster than seemed to be happening without a cult?

I feel as though it would be of some use, since the cult members would still be humans and could blend in way easier while still spreading M.A.D. in some way. But then again, if Gabriel is really Satan, his pride may conflict with allowing humans to do what he can do himself; but then again, I feel like he wouldn't totally reject worship to himself as he's seen mocking those who believe in God and not him. What do you guys think?

hi there! thanks for taking the time to click on this post 😄 i'm hoping to make some new friends, as i don't really have any in person. i am very shy and tend to be asocial, so it's always been easier for me to try to make friends online. i'd like to hopefully make long-term friends. i'm not super interested in only talking for a few days and then suddenly not talking anymore, which sadly seems to be a trend on here. it would also be nice to meet people who like having longer, meaningful conversations in addition to regular pleasantries instead of just short responses all the time. anyway, here's a bit about me!

i love spending time in nature and taking photos. i'm far from a professional photographer, but that's part of why i love photography so much; you don't need a pro to capture amazing shots. it's like being able to take a moment in time and freeze it forever and always be able to transport yourself back to that moment. it also allows you to take extra time to appreciate the small things around us, especially when in nature. it can sometimes be easy to forget how wondrous a world we live in and i like how photography allows me to appreciate nature even more than i already do.

i do enjoy reading, but i'm in kind of a reading slump right now. i typically enjoy horror and usually only read fiction. not because i dislike non-fiction, but i love being immersed in a world that is not already the one i live in. horror movies tend to be the types of movies i gravitate toward as well, but it can be a little grating after a while, so i try to diversify both the types of books i read and the movies i watch. if i had to pick a favorite movie of all time, it'd be the 1984 original terminator movie! the terminator series should have been more like that instead of just meathead action all the time. but that's a rant for another time, lol.

music is a huge part of my life. i don't play or anything, but the idea that an artist takes pieces of their mind and soul and puts it out there for you to absorb in such an immediate and resonating way always seemed very intimate and special to me. i also love discovering different cultural music as well. a few of my favorite bands are pixies, sonic youth, deftones and nine inch nails. i'm always down to share songs and talk about different genres and sounds 😄

i don't want to ramble too long and make this post longer than it needs to be, so that's just a little bit about me. if you'd like to know more or chat, feel free to send me a message! i'm open to talking with anybody, i just ask that you be around my age and please don't be too dry, lol. i look forward to meeting you 😉

hi there! thanks for taking the time to click on this post 😄 i'm hoping to make some new friends, as i don't really have any in person. i am very shy and tend to be asocial, so it's always been easier for me to try to make friends online. i'd like to hopefully make long-term friends. i'm not super interested in only talking for a few days and then suddenly not talking anymore, which sadly seems to be a trend on here. it would also be nice to meet people who like having longer, meaningful conversations in addition to regular pleasantries instead of just short responses all the time. anyway, here's a bit about me!

i love spending time in nature and taking photos. i'm far from a professional photographer, but that's part of why i love photography so much; you don't need a pro to capture amazing shots. it's like being able to take a moment in time and freeze it forever and always be able to transport yourself back to that moment. it also allows you to take extra time to appreciate the small things around us, especially when in nature. it can sometimes be easy to forget how wondrous a world we live in and i like how photography allows me to appreciate nature even more than i already do.

i do enjoy reading, but i'm in kind of a reading slump right now. i typically enjoy horror and usually only read fiction. not because i dislike non-fiction, but i love being immersed in a world that is not already the one i live in. horror movies tend to be the types of movies i gravitate toward as well, but it can be a little grating after a while, so i try to diversify both the types of books i read and the movies i watch. if i had to pick a favorite movie of all time, it'd be the 1984 original terminator movie! the terminator series should have been more like that instead of just meathead action all the time. but that's a rant for another time, lol.

music is a huge part of my life. i don't play or anything, but the idea that an artist takes pieces of their mind and soul and puts it out there for you to absorb in such an immediate and resonating way always seemed very intimate and special to me. i also love discovering different cultural music as well. a few of my favorite bands are pixies, sonic youth, deftones and nine inch nails. i'm always down to share songs and talk about different genres and sounds 😄

i don't want to ramble too long and make this post longer than it needs to be, so that's just a little bit about me. if you'd like to know more or chat, feel free to send me a message! i'm open to talking with anybody, i just ask that you be around my age and please don't be too dry, lol. i look forward to meeting you 😉

I have tried to read through a good handful of English translations of the Bible, but The Clear Word is one that I really enjoy. However, I do understand that there is controversy over this translation. On top of that, at this time, I am not an Adventist (that isn't to say that I'm against it, I just haven't ever been to an Adventist church) and I know that this translation has a lot of Adventist theology baked in. I know it may seem strange to say, but it's written in a way that is easier for me to understand and engage with than any other translation I've tried to read so far, so I don't mind that these things are in there and I actually really enjoy the expansion of concepts because it makes it "click" more in my head as to what is actually going on.

That being said, I wanted to get opinions from Adventists on what you guys think about that and if it's advisable to use long-term and as my main Bible, which is, right now, what I want to do. Sorry if this is kind of an odd question, lol. Thanks 🙂
