Why do people who have attempted human transmutation see the Truth?
It makes sense why people arrogant enough to think they can bring someone back lose something important to them. But why do they gain knowledge and the ability to do clap alchemy? Why would they get anything for their arrogance at all?

I’ve watched both series several times, I think it’s about time I read the manga
I’m aware that this will be the same overall story as Brotherhood but I also know that they skipped over a lot in the show
