Lighting illusion - something about this spot turned him into a rainbowfish. Fins are normally pink and white

An unexpected but free betta came into my life with clamped fins and difficulty swimming. For 13 days I kept him in a 32-oz soup container with an anubias plant to rest on, with daily water changes of tannin rich water and a small amount of aquarium salt. The container floated in the main tank while he worked on relaxing and getting his strength up. He has been swimming and eating so much better now, and he is such a joy to watch. He loves weaving through and resting on/in the plants, and he has been nothing but a gentleman to the pygmy cories and (adult) shrimp. Here he is today, day 17 since rescue and 4 days since being moved from his recovery container into his new permanent home.
