Adopt Ross!

Ross (aka Rossy, Ross-topher, Rossy-Roo, Ross-a-Roni, good boy) is a young Border Collie/Lab Mix, looking for his forever home! He’s a curious, playful, somewhat shy, goofy boy learning all sorts of things in his foster home. Ross is fully potty trained, and can both use a doggy door and ring bells to let you know, though he prefers to use his voice these days😉. He walks beautifully on a leash, is crate trained, knows several commands: sit, come, lay down, and is currently working to learn the art of playing fetch. Ross loves to be outside, and play with doggy friends, but will also happily entertain himself. His favorite solo activity is chewing on an antler, yak chew, or bully stick, with his pig toy coming in a close second place. While he doesn’t have a fenced yard in his foster home, his wish list does include outside space he can be in safely off leash. Ross does well with cats, but he does like to play chase. His ideal home would have another confident dog friend to help him continue building confidence, someone who is home more often than not, and have no small children.

He is around 50 lbs and a year old. Available through Paws 4 the Cause!

I’m curious if anyone here has ever been misdiagnosed celiac. I’ve had the blood test many times over the last decade, and it’s always negative. Recently my GI did a genetic test of I think 2 genes, and one was positive and one negative, indicating a likelihood to develop it at some point. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy and it was noted that I have villous blunting. My sister is diagnosed celiac, as well as an aunt.

I’m still dealing with tummy troubles I can’t identify and I’ve been doing pretty dang well on the gluten free diet. I know it can take a while to heal your gut, and I’ve never had an obvious reaction to gluten which led to the asymptomatic celiac diagnosis. Im not noticing any changes at all so far to my skin (sensitivity or acne, which was already rare), sleep, gut, energy… I’ve checked all meds I consume and do not believe I’m consuming gluten at all. For the last 6 months I’d say I’ve been 95% gluten free and for the last two 100% to the best of my knowledge.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I know villous blunting is a hallmark sign for celiac, but does/can anything else cause this? Has anyone had a repeat endoscopy and seen no change to the villous blunting? I looked previously and didn’t find anything, but figure if I can find answers anywhere it would be here!

Why does this personal assistant still not get that when I’m using “hey siri,” I need a fucking spoken reply? And why does it ALWAYS announce what I say when I hold down the button to turn her on manually? Just another reason to add to the list of why I’m leaving Apple as soon as I can.

Any child free thirty something’s looking for friends? Where are you meeting folks? Dog play dates, thrifting, farmers market, community building.

Edited to add: looking for politically left folks only, if looking to make connections.
