Why are my squares curling so much? Wrong size hook? (Pictures included)

I’m a fairly intermediate crocheter but I’m not very knowledgeable about yarn weight and hook size. I’m making these fancy granny squares in a medium weight (4) Mercerized Cotton using a size 4 mm hook. Can someone tell me if I’m doing something wrong? the tension is fine. why are the curling? Do you think it will be ok when I wet block them?

I’m only on row 6 of 10 and it’s curling so much. Should I try a bigger hook? Maybe a 4.5? The yarn is pretty fine even though it’s considered medium weight. I’m on a time crunch for this project so I’m hoping I do t have to do much frogging! 

I’m trying to make a clutch. (see inspo picture)
