I don’t see any obvious burn marks on the battery pins. So what could actually be wrong? What do you recommend I do next? I show the problem in this video.

PS: My setup is a BBS02 with a UPP battery.

PS2: Sorry if this isn’t the right sub, but I’ve asked in other places and haven’t found any help. I really need to get this fixed because I rely on this bike to get to uni every day.

Everything works when I remove the battery’s base plate, but as soon as I mount the plate the way it’s supposed to be installed, nothing works at all

Hi everyone. This is a follow‑up to my earlier post: https://www.reddit.com/r/bafang/comments/1sqgj26/can_i_safely_ride_my_bbs02_using_the_usb_bypass/. I have a Bafang BBS02 and my display would randomly shut down (sometimes after minutes, sometimes after seconds), so I tried the USB programming‑cable bypass shown in a video: unplug the display, connect the USB cable, and test the throttle. With the display disconnected the throttle worked fine for about a week, but then the motor suddenly stopped working even in bypass mode. I checked the motor cables for pinches or visible damage and found nothing obvious, then I started listening to the battery and heard a ticking sound, so I removed the battery base plate and reinserted the battery without the plate. The ticking stopped and the motor worked again as expected. I recorded a short video showing the behavior (sorry for my English, it’s not my first language):

Has anyone seen this before or have ideas what to check or fix?
