What's the best piece of advice you ever got from a customer, not a mentor?

The best business advice I've been given came from a customer who wasn't trying to give advice. They were just frustrated about something and said one sentence that completely reframed how we built the product after that call. Mentors and coaches have been useful over the years but nothing's hit like that one offhand comment from someone who was actually paying us.

What's a line from a customer that changed how you think about the work? Doesn't have to be profound, often it isn't, sometimes it's just accurate in a way you didn't want to hear.

What's one thing you've stopped doing in cold emails or outbound this year?

I've had to rework our cold outreach this year because response rates on things that worked 12 months ago are basically zero. The big ones I've dropped: the "quick question" subject line, and the two-sentence opener referencing something from the company's LinkedIn. Both used to land, both feel completely dead now.

Curious what other people have dropped this year that used to work. Not what you added, specifically what you stopped doing because it's not pulling anymore.

How are you tying damaged FBA returns back to the right order?

Saw this coming up a lot lately, and was curious if other people in the field do it. When the same SKU has a few returns close together, I always end up matching date, notes, and quantity by hand. Is there a better way you trust?
