I can’t be the only one to have noticed that there’s something of a problem with people playing up on Metro, particularly of an evening groups of teenagers who can often be found vaping onboard. In my experience at least it seems to be more common amongst groups, perhaps they have some notion of safety in numbers, or are egging each other on, trying to impress their friends.

I think the driver being separated off behind their partition has helped this, compared to the traditional buses. The separation is maybe making it harder for them to control this kind of behaviour, or perhaps even simply making it harder to notice. While the driver has a CCTV screen, it looks like it isn’t always active, blanking out while they are driving. Honestly, that’s probably not a bad thing, I’m sure we don’t want our drivers effectively watching TV while at 90 on the busway.

I suppose the solution has to be more hopper security jumping on and off Metro services to supplement the driver’s eyes. What does the community think? What have you seen onboard the Metro, was the driver able to deal with it, or did they ignore or not notice anything going on? Keen to hear your stories and opinions.

From Hess on Facebook, translated:

The last HESS lighTram® 25 TOSA Metro has left our partner Volgren for Brisbane. After the long journey, the lighTram® was tested at Volgren and successfully put into operation.

Four years after the pilot vehicle from Bellach went to Australia, the project with the last vehicle was successfully completed.

Nearly 60 all-electric, 24.5-metre-long HESS electric buses are in service daily in Brisbane today. #forbettermobility

this is Rennes in france btw. (Rennes Metro).

rennes use to be the smallest city with a subway system... until they weren't. But it got some weird on the outside, VERY cool on the inside rolling stock

is this the most unique rolling stock y'alls have seen on a metro. or is there weirder???

Had been meaning to write something down for a while and was suddenly struck with inspiration an hour and a half after I should have been in bed. Hoping this is all fairly standard stuff that no one needs to be told, but probably safer to have it written down anyway. Any feedback or suggestions welcome.
