Obligatory disclaimer because Redditors can’t handle nuance: none of this is to defend the Iranian regime. Multiple things can be true at once. The fact that the Iranian government is shitty doesn’t nullify the fact that the US has been a malign actor for decades.

Anybody who claims to care about free speech and the rule of law should care about this. The president is using the DOJ to get revenge on people he doesn't like. That should chill every American to the bone.
