People in England told me Swansea was an absolute shithole. One year later, here is the truth

Before moving here from England, people told us absolute rubbish like "Wales is a shithole," "Nobody moves from England to Wales," and "The city is full of druggies." Just so many vile statements. We've been here for a year now, and as a black immigrant, I genuinely believe Wales is the best country in Britain. The people are warm, lovely, and treat strangers like their own. Back in England, your neighbours won't even speak to you, and supermarket security will shadow you like you're a criminal. Now I live in Clydach, a quiet, peaceful, and incredibly friendly neighbourhood. Beyond the beautiful, serene environment, I also get to enjoy much cheaper car insurance thanks to the 20mph speed limits. I also play football for my local club, and traveling for away games gives me the chance to see all the beautiful surrounding towns, incredible mountains, and valleys. I visited Pembrey Country Park last week and it was absolutely fantastic! There is just so much to explore in Wales, and I am incredibly grateful to live here. Honestly, I struggle to find a single thing I dislike about Swansea and, by extension, Wales as a whole. Diolch Cymru
