New to fishing piers in UK
Hello! So basically I am trying to introduce myself to sea fishing in UK. I’m from Finland where I’ve always fished, however our sea over there is nothing like the sea here. We basically have no tide and way less species of fish to catch. My question is, what are the basic parameters that an experienced fisherman in England does regarding weather and tides? Few times I’vs just gone to the pier and there will be a local saying that its probably not the best tide for fishing. Also, a lot of people here seem to use bait. I am more used to just casting lures. My ”local spots” would be Middlesbrough, Sunderland and this coastal area. Would you just keep going to the piers or are there other interesting options for finding deep enough spots that you can cast from the shore to? I would like to catch a bass, so far I have caught a mackerel but tips for any fish are appreciated.
