Im finally leaving behind this bum cheeks windows for Sweet sweet linux. i have sum smol questions and feel free to give any tips you want.
Now windows has always bugged me, obviously. Sometimes ts would turn off search indexing, sometimes the intel upgrades will be stuck on "waiting for windows configuration", someones even normal updates will get stuck. and after those updates someone app wont one or open automatically.
I reinstalled windows 11 two days ago expecting that fast snappy windows...but nah this is genuinely lobotomizing. Billions of drivers, some are outdated, my controller isnt getting picked up in games, MY GPU ISNT GETTING PICKED UP BY GAMES BUT IS RECOGNIZED BY PC SOMEHOW, Audio drivers dont work properly. And windows automatically downloaded these. Plus my bios is also up to date. Im just done using this shitty OS and living under Big Bill and finally installing Linux. Fedora or Mint to be specific
now for questions since its my first time doing this.
My main priority is Blender and unity since im a game dev, those work fine on Linux no?
for games, do i just look for them on Proton DB and if they have Native, platinum and Gold, i can run then very easily no?
Next is security. How secure is it. Like if I supposedly clicked on a link or downloaded it, How screwed am I, Hypothetically.
also does my Nvidia GPU cause any problems? or will it be fine?
Feel free to drop any extra tips
