I'm 22M and my parents (I'm Indian) are skeptical of modern Medicine/doctors. They keep saying that modern medicines are useless and that their "natural/herbal medicine" is way more useful. On the other hand they keep asking me what to do against Disease/Issue XYZ. If I then tell them to see a doctor they get pissed. My dad for example is obese, has gallstones for over 1 year, has broken knees where he can't even sit down has swollen calves and has constant coughing for over a month now… (I could make an entire list). He always asked me what to do against his medical condition and if I tell him that I don't know and he should see his doctor he starts calling me useless. They always insist that Home remedies are better than anything else and swear that Homeopathic Medicine is top tier.

Some weeks ago I went to the ENT doctor because my nose clogs when I sleep and I have issues really sleeping through the night and if it works my breathing sounds like Darth Vader. My doctor told me that I need an operation because my nasal septum isn't straight. When I told my parents they started shaming for getting an operation and told me I'm fine. When I told them I'm not fine they started insulting me and shaming me even more. Another thing is that my dad gets pissed if me and my brother start eating healthy and calls us names and constantly buys sweet stuff to give it to us. We decline every single time and he keep going on. My mom is way healthier than my dad and doesn't have any diseases but she also swears on their "natural and homeopathic medicine" but isn't any better on her stance to medicine. Herbal Medicine can help you but not against a broken bone or gallstones.
