The Beautifully Tragic Legend of the Whirlwind
The tragedy of Jimmy White isn't that he wasn't good enough, but that he was a genius who peaked during the era of the most clinical winner in history, Stephen Hendry. To reach six finals and lose them all is a level of sporting 'torture' that few could endure while still keeping a smile on their face

Three men face murd*r charges after brutal public machete attack caught on CCTV
TANGKAK : An organized criminal gang member was among three men brought before the Tangkak Magistrates' Court today on charges of hacking a man to death with machetes in public last March.
The accused, Pan Wei Siang, 24, Henry Lau Yi Sheng, 26, and Tan Ah Chai, 32, nodded in understanding as the charges were read under Section 302 of the Penal Code before Magistrate Lee Kim Kiat. No plea was recorded as murder cases fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
According to the charge, the three, along with another individual still at large, were accused of murdering Tong Wee Sheng, 38, by the side of a house at Batu 9, Bukit Kangkar, Sungai Mati, at 7:20 pm on March 13. Section 302 provides for the death penalty or a maximum of 40 years in prison and no more than 12 strokes of the cane if the death sentence is not imposed.
The prosecution was led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Amirah Sapian while all the accused were unrepresented. Mohd Razak Shariff acted as the watching brief lawyer for the victim's family. The prosecution requested a new date as they have yet to receive the forensic and autopsy reports and did not offer bail. The court allowed the request and set July 14 for mention and submission of documents.
In the same court, Ah Chai faced an additional charge for allegedly being a member of the unregistered "Hong Hong San" organized criminal gang. The offense was committed at the Tangkak District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 7:45 pm on April 28, under Section 7 of the Societies Act 1966. The accused pleaded not guilty and the case is set for mention on June 9.
In the incident, Wee Sheng was confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital due to injuries to his hands, legs and back. CCTV footage showed the victim being chased by three men armed with machetes, their faces covered with sweaters and masks.

Former policewoman, 65, arrested after 50km chase from Rembau to Melaka.
Rembau: A 65-year-old female police retiree was successfully apprehended at Jalan Bukit Beruang, Melaka, around 10:30 PM last night after a high-speed chase spanning approximately 50 kilometers from Rembau.
Deputy District Police Chief of Rembau, Deputy Superintendent Azmi Ali, stated that an inspection of the vehicle driven by the woman led to the discovery of four pills suspected to be ecstasy. Preliminary tests also confirmed the suspect tested positive for Amphetamines.
"While our MPV units were on patrol at 10:30 PM, they received orders to head to Taman Sedia Raja following reports of a black Honda City hitting another vehicle and fleeing the scene. Our MPV spotted the car and attempted to pull it over, but the suspect refused to cooperate and sped off towards Melaka," he said in a statement today.
Azmi added that through the coordinated efforts of patrol units from Kota Police Station, Alor Gajah MPV, and Melaka Tengah MPV, the suspect's vehicle was finally intercepted at Jalan Bukit Beruang.
"A body search yielded no illegal items. However, a subsequent search of the car, witnessed by the suspect, uncovered a bag containing a transparent plastic packet with four pills suspected to be ecstasy," he added.
Following the arrest, police received reports of traffic accidents in the Rembau district involving the suspect's car, a Toyota Hiace van, and a Perodua Viva. Fortunately, no injuries were reported by the other parties involved.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Rule LN 166/59.

Woman spits on a bus passenger and gets shoved out the door onto the sidewalk

Vancouver - A video showing an unmasked woman spitting on a fellow bus passenger was posted on TikTok, and transit police say they are now investigating the incident.
In the video, the woman who spat on someone gets shoved down the steps and out the side door of the bus.
Transit police say they only learned of the event after the video began making the rounds on the social media platform TikTok on Thursday morning.
“It’s gone over to our external investigation unit, they are attempting to reach out to the individual who had posted the video in an effort to gather additional information,” said Sgt. Clint Hampton.
But, he said, that could be challenging because TikTok doesn’t offer an easy way for police to direct message users, and the video has since been deleted.
“This makes the investigation difficult, we are working off of a video with very limited information,” Sgt. Hampton said.
“We know when the video was posted but we don’t know when it was taken. Was this taken yesterday or was it taken three months ago?
“We are asking if anybody was a witness to this even or was involved in this event to please contact transit police.”
Right before the woman spits in the man’s face, someone is heard saying the word “disgusting.”
Police aren’t sure if the fact that the woman wasn’t wearing a face mask, which is mandatory on public transit, could be a factor. The man who was spat on shoved the woman toward the bus door, and she was pushed or fell down the stairs and onto the pavement while the bus was at a stop at Nanaimo and Hastings streets.
“If there is somebody on transit who is not wearing a mask, we encourage people to socially distance themselves from that person,” said Hampton. “We don’t want people trying to police the mandatory mask policy and putting themselves at risk.”
If the woman who spat on the man is identified, she could be charged with assault.
“It’s disgusting,” Sgt. Hampton said. “No other way to put it, for people to be spat on is disgusting for people.”
