Recently my discord got compromised due to me clicking a link from a friend whose account was compromised.

While I was able to protect my email luckily, he managed to gain access to my account & even sent me a threatening email that said "Follow me on twitter and talk to me or u will be in trouble mark my word"

They even used my friends account who got compromised around the same time as me to send this email, so she got worse than I did.

Needless to say I was not going to give into blackmail & was focused on protecting my email & other accounts.

I spent 3 hours doing it & it was hell.

Luckily I had a spare discord & was able to get in touch with most of the people I made friends with on discord quickly to get my old account kicked from the main servers I was a part of.

My old account has been labeled suspicious but it has been messaging people on my friends list.

I had about 85 people on it.

Luckily pretty much everyone who knows me knows it's not me.

The scammer was even dumb enough to VC with a friend of mine who has heard my voice before which was wild.

The worst message he sent to another friend of mine was a message that said

"How are let's fuck Iran girls together"

Needless to say she knew it wasn't me because I don't say shit like that.

Overall while I'm glad I managed to get back into contact with most people from my old account, losing all my DMs in that account especially lots of heart warming messages after my dad died is the worst part for me.

I've done all I can for now & I am looking to get the account deleted because considering all the headaches in me getting back in touch with people it's not worth it using it again.

I am at the mercy of discord support but I am thankful he didn't get access to anything else.
