Guys please give me the motivation to continue HxH. The Kukuru Mountain Arc is so disappointing I am going to get depressed.
The set up for this arc was so perfect, I can't believe how anti-climactic it became.
Killua's skills being shown early on, with his heart ripping scene. Then there came Ilumi, who was more threatening. The way Ilumi's eyes feel cold, and the way he made Killua's eyes the same, this would lead one to believe the entire family also had cold eyes and were even more threatening and dangerous, with each having their own strengths and psychopathic madman traits.
This got all set up right in the first arc. The location was also perfectly set up with the mountain as well. Slowly climbing up and reaching the mansion while fighting through all the enemies while Killua wishes to come back tearfully, this was what I thought it was leading to.
Killua himself going to the place showed a potential inner conflict that needed to be resolved. The line about the servants being very dangerous also was set up. The intro before the opening as well, we are shown the silhouette of the whole Zoldyck Family, they looked so threatening and I got so hyped up to see all of their asses get finally kicked!! The whole Killua chained up and whipped, this was perfectly leading towards a satisfying fight against psychopaths!!
What do we get? The conflict magically solving itself in the form of Killua's father setting him free.
Killua's grandfather being revealed so early on instead of us fighting through all and reaching him.
The worst is the fact that grandpa and the fat brother walk through a corridor and say that "Killua is the strongest of us in generations."
WHAT DO YOU MEAN!!!! The fat guy actually considers Killua a strong brother??!!! WHY IS HE SUDDENLY SO NORMAL BEHAVING??!!! THE WHOLE SETUP DEFLATED LIKE A BALLOON!!!! I have lost all motivation to continue the anime now. Maybe I need a few days break before I can slog through the last few episodes of this arc. All I remember right now is that Gon Team have entered the butler mansion. I am not even excited for the reunion between Killua and everyone. It doesn't feel earned. I feel like I have wasted my time and energy on this arc.
I want to continue Hunter x Hunter but this arc is making me feel depressed and unmotivated.
