Consensual Nonmonogamy should be a common relationship type rather than everyone pretending they are monogamous and cheating

Monogamy is the socially encouraged or enforced norm in society and it doesn’t fit everyone. If consensual nonmonogamy was a normalized option many would and should take it. Rates of infidelity in marriage are high and indicate that many people are not well suited to monogamy. We demonize people that cheat so readily but maybe they just require a relationship paradigm that isn’t commonly available or socially acceptable and should be. Yes I know people would still cheat, because humans are humans and yes I know you can cheat in a CNM relationship too. I’m simply suggesting that we accept people that feel constrained by monogamy and make space for them to have very normal consensual relationships where they have more than one person in their life.
