Role Overview We are hiring part-time disability leadership

Facilitator(s) to work directly with young adults, creating transformational learning experiences that inspire confidence, personal development, and leadership skills. In this role, you’ll facilitate engaging discussions, workshops, and activities, both virtually on zoom and in-person, designed to empower participants as they navigate their own growth journeys. You’ll need to bring energy, charisma, and emotional intelligence to foster a supportive, inspiring environment. You’ll also play a key role in the program’s success by supporting participant onboarding including supporting accommodation to ensure participants are engaged and ready to thrive. This is a contract position from April - December 2026, ideally based in the GTA. We will consider fully remote positions. The contract may be renewed or extended based on program needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities Facilitation & Participant Engagement

● Co-facilitate at least one cohort of FUTURES program from May - August 2026; and co-facilitate at least 2 cohorts of FUTURES program from September - December 2026. Cohorts are a mix of virtual, hybrid and in-person over 6 or 13 weeks. Specifically you will: ○ Serve as a mentor and guide for disabled, neurodivergent and/or equity-deserving participants aged 18 to 30, creating an environment that fosters trust, growth, and connection.

■ FUTURES participants reflect the intersectionality of disabled and/or neurodivergent folks in Canada

○ Facilitate engaging, interactive workshops and discussions, encouraging participants to explore personal development and leadership topics.

○ Build strong, supportive relationships with participants, helping them set and achieve meaningful goals.

○ Adapt facilitation styles to connect authentically with diverse participants and create an inclusive atmosphere. Leadership & Growth Development

● Inspire participants to reflect on their values, strengths, and opportunities for growth.

● Guide participants through self-discovery and skill-building exercises that translate into real-world leadership capabilities.

● Empower participants to take ownership of their personal and professional development journeys. Onboarding

● Assist with onboarding activities, helping participants feel welcomed, informed, and ready to thrive in the program.

● Support fulfilling accommodation requests Community Building

● Foster collaboration and peer-to-peer learning, building a supportive and lasting community among participants

. ● Promote open dialogue, respect, and shared experiences, creating a space where everyone can grow together.

○ Build connections with disabled networks, organizations, communities, and leaders to promote the program and connect participants to the broader disability community in Canada. Program Support

● Coordinate logistics for in-person and virtual sessions and events, ensuring accessibility and participant needs are met.

● Provide regular updates to program staff, sharing successes, challenges, and insights.

● Assist with program evaluation by gathering participant feedback and identifying opportunities for improvement. AccessFest

● Co-facilitate FUTURES workshop at AccessFest 2026 (June 6, 2026)

● Co-facilitate additional engaging FUTURES programming for Spring cohort members in person and/or virtually.

Qualifications and Requirements

● Proudly identify as disabled and/or neurodivergent

● Preference for Racialized or Indigenous identity

● A natural facilitator, with proven experience in mentorship, leadership development, teaching, or youth programming.

○ Strong preference for experience facilitating disability- or social justice-focused leadership program

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect authentically and inspire others.

● Exceptional emotional intelligence, with a keen understanding of how to foster trust and growth in a group setting.

● Passion for working with young adults, helping them navigate personal and professional development journeys. ○ Strong preference for experience working with disabled, neurodivergent, D/deaf and/or marginalized people aged 18-30.

● Highly organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage group dynamics and logistical challenges effectively.

● Strong understanding and experience with supporting access needs and accommodations ● Ability to work collaboratively with teams and coordinate effectively with program staff

● Availability evenings and possibly Saturdays

● Capability and capacity to commute to Centre for Social Innovation (192 Spadina Road) for in-person program

Location: ideally based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) but remote roles may be considered on a case by case basis.

Hours & Compensation:

● Each cohort is approx 85 hrs of work distributed over either 6 weeks or 13 weeks.

● Compensation is paid per cohort at rate of $40-45/hr

● Onboarding and training compensated separately at the same hourly rate.
